Executive Director
Alyssia Knox is the Executive Director/CEO of Leaders of Excellence. She graduated from University Alabama Tuscaloosa with an academic concentration in Children, Youth, and Family Social Work with a sub concentration in Psychology. Ms. Knox is an experienced, LMSW, and compassionate professional with over eight years of social work-related experience with the socially and economically disadvantaged population.
Chairperson
Jeremy Ervin is our Board Chairsperson. He is the CEO/Founder of Ervin PR Firm Firm, established in 2018. He received his undergraduate degree from Stillman College in 2005, where he served as President of the Student Government Association, Member of Alpha Phi Alpha, Inc., NAACP Vice President, and President of the United Negro College Fund. After which, Jeremy received his Masters’ in Business Administration, from the University of Phoenix at Dallas in 2016. As the CEO of Ervin PR, he has provided professional consulting services and political campaign management strategies to clients ranging from newly- termed first time African American District Attorney, first time seat holder African American Judge, business owners, and startup companies. From strategic planning, to professional branding solutions, the firm's focus is always on building an efficient and results-driven by connecting people to their purpose.
Treasurer
Iesha Byers is our Board Secretary. Ms. Byers a native of Gadsden, Alabama she currently resides in Birmingham, AL. She is proud graduate of Miles College. Byers is a small business owner. Byers has over 10 years of experience in Real Estate. She is currently the Property Manager for the Properties and Business Development Department at the Birmingham Airport Authority.
Public Relations
Brittany Clark is our Public Relations Manager and apart of our Board of Directors. As the founder of Climax Public Relations, Brittney Clark entered public relations with a vision to help companies effortlessly reach their media and press goals by creating strategic public relations systems that achieve results. Brittney’s company grew through helping business owners and non profits showcase their mission through media channels such as ABC, CBS, and Fox. Brittney understands the importance of educating and personally developing our youth for a prosperous future. She plans on volunteering significant time and resources to enable the Leaders of Excellence organization to accomplish its public relations goals.
Board Member
Kimberly Clark is a part of our Board of Directors team. She is an Urban Snap-Ed Educator for Alabama A&M University. Ms. Clark is President of the HBCU Basketball Association and owner of the Magic City Surge a Men's Professional Basketball Team in Birmingham Alabama. In 2021 she received a distinguished certification from Cornell University in Women’s Entrepreneurship Received over 6 prestigious awards for her work in the community and in business leadership First Double minority to own a Professional Sports team in Alabama.
Board Member
Reginald Thomas is a part of our Board of Directors team. Reginald Thomas professional background includes 26 years of retail management. Reginald Serves as a Chaplain at Medical West in Bessemer, AL. “The Plentitude,” a literary journal in New York City, has chosen him to serve on its Editorial Board as a Poetry Editor.
Board Member
Marlecia Chavers is a part of our Board of Directors team. She is a rising millennial entrepreneur that hails from the “Magic City” of Birmingham, AL. She received her Bachelor of Arts from the illustrious Dillard University in New Orleans, LA with a designation of Cum Laude. Chavers’ 13 years plus of expertise in the auditing field and tax combined with her keen knowledge of accounting and attention to detail helps her provide her clients the best in accountancy, bookkeeping, and notary services. It is Marliceia’s goal to help Leaders of Excellence leave a legacy of purpose and plant seeds of success to help them grow into sucessful adults.
